Uncovering your essence

Ever felt lost?

Maybe it wasn’t lost per se, but unclear about what you want or which direction to go in?

I’ve always found going inward and writing to be helpful when I’m feeling that way. Journaling is a great tool for this.

Sometimes it’s hard to delineate between what we want and what society tells us we should want.

For us to know what’s best for us, we need to uncover our essence and move in a direction that honors our natural way of being and adding value in the world.

With that, I wanted to share some powerful questions you can journal on to help you uncover your essence. Getting more clarity around this will help you set forth on a path aligned with who you truly are.

Here we go:

  • When was the last time you felt most like yourself?
  • When was the last time you felt least like yourself?
  • Describe a time when you went through a change in identity.
  • Describe a time when you didn’t get what you wanted.
  • Describe a time when you got what you wanted, only to discover it was wrong for you.
  • When was the last time you couldn’t stop crying? What was it about?
  • Describe a time when you had a form-in-the-road choice — when saying yes to something meant saying no to something else.
  • Describe a serendipitous moment that changed your life.
  • When was the last time you felt called to do something — something you couldn’t refuse?
  • When have you felt you were being of the most service?

Do any of these questions stand out or resonate with you? I’d love to hear any responses you have for them if you’re open to sharing.

As always, if you’d like to have a 2-hour coaching session, it’d be my pleasure to have a conversation with you — gratis. You can book time with me here.
